Ever since last week when we erected our big puddle of fun in our backyard, every night without fail I greet the girls and their return greeting is "Mama, Mama, can we please go swimming, PLEASE!"
My usual response is, "Girls...do you have any idea how hard it is for me to unpack school bags, do Kumon, make dinner, review homework AND let you in the pool"? They usually respond with "I know, Mama. It is hard to do it all". At which point, the guilt slowly creeps in of being a working mom that doesn't get home until 5pm (although that's early in my book) and I think, they are just kids and they have been in school all day'. Their right as children is to have fun after a long day at school. So I start out saying it is too much, but always end up saying yes in the end. Not so good for establishing that whole routine of "my word is solid", but that's how it goes.
I must say, for a quick set up pool, this 10 footer is responsible for a whole lotta fun happening around our parts. My girls are having just about the most fun ever, although when they are together, my girls could have fun playing with a brown paper bag. Although slightly annoying that every object becomes a potential play toy, on second thought thinking that is actually pretty cool. This certainly has the potential to keep my costs down when it comes to toy shopping.
